Mission Trip To Ghana - July 2026

Our trip to Ghana is our longest running mission trip and our longest lasting global partnership with Pastor Isaiah and Suhudoo Baptist Church. Pastor Jon has been partnering with Suhudoo since before Renovation Church was started.

The mission of Suhudoo Baptist Church is to minister to the least of these. Our focus while in Ghana is two-fold.

One aspect is going into the market in Kumasi, which is the largest outdoor market in western Africa, to minister to a group of ladies known as “carriers”. These women come down from northern Ghana to work in the market to carry products for shoppers or businesses for next to nothing. They stay in the market for months to save money to take back home to their families, but while they are there they sleep on the streets. We go and present the gospel to these women and then Suhudoo Baptist Church offers them a place to sleep, a bath house to use, a school for their children, and a trade school for the women to learn how to either sew or style hair.

The second aspect of our focus is to go into surrounding neighborhoods, usually Muslim in faith, and show the Jesus Film. This film has been translated into their language and usually draws a large curious crowd. We sit and watch them film and answer any questions they may have. This is really a time for seed planting as they watch the life of Jesus played out in a movie.

One other area of ministry we will participate in for one day while we’re there is a trucker ministry. Johnny, who is our main point of contact for logisitics in Ghana, has started a ministry at a local truck stop. These truckers will sit at this truck stop for weeks or months at a time waiting for the next load, and so we take the opportunity to share Bible stories with them.

This trip is one of our longer trips and it is usually pretty long days. It is very rewarding, but it can also be very draining as you’re in the hot African sun most of the day.
